Résumé
While a writer is characterised by the unique language that he forges for creative writing, the use of that language is nonetheless a significant experience, which needs to be restored in the cultural, social, historical and political context. Standing the test of the native, the near and the foreign, the writer can either choose to write in his “mother" tongue, practice polyglottism, or radically change the language. Language then becomes a universal human heritage, a mirror of identity, a national and cultural affiliation, a political act, an acculturation or an integration, an exile or even a refuge.
Si tout écrivain se distingue par la langue singulière qu’il forge en vue de la création littéraire, l’usage de cette langue n’en demeure pas moins une expérience chargée de sens qui nécessite d’être restituée dans son contexte culturel, social, historique et politique. À l’épreuve du propre, du proche et de l’étranger, l’écrivain peut choisir d’écrire dans sa langue « maternelle », de pratiquer le polyglottisme ou encore de changer radicalement de langue. La langue devient alors patrimoine humain universel, miroir identitaire, appartenance nationale et culturelle, acte politique, acculturation ou intégration, exil ou encore abri.
